About Collingwood Psychotherapy and Yoga Centre

In-depth, relational therapy for people ready to move beyond coping and into meaningful, lasting change.

At Collingwood Psychotherapy and Yoga Centre, psychotherapy is our foundation. Our therapists integrate experiential and body-focused practices to help clients reach their goals.

This is a home for those who are ready to remember themselves. A place where healing is not a destination, but a practice. Where you don’t have to hold it all alone. Where transformation happens not by force, but by being met.

Our Story

Born From A Belief In Relational, Embodied Healing

The Collingwood Psychotherapy and Yoga Centre was born from a deep belief: that healing happens in connection with ourselves, with each other, and with the land.

Rooted in decades of personal and professional exploration, the centre reflects the shared vision of Tara McGee and Peter Madore, partners in life and in practice, whose distinct paths converged in a commitment to embodied, relational healing.

For Tara, this vision grew through years of wilderness guiding, community work, yoga, movement, and psychotherapy. For Peter, it grew through creativity, relationship, and a deep trust in what can emerge when people are met with honesty, warmth, and presence.

Together, Tara and Peter are the roots of Collingwood Psychotherapy and Yoga Centre. Their work is united by a devotion to healing as a relational, embodied, and ongoing practice.

At its heart, the centre exists to relieve suffering by restoring connection. It meets people in the realness of life, in seasons of grief and overwhelm, in the demands of caregiving and change, and in the deeper hunger for meaning and wholeness.

Depth Therapy in Collingwood

Depth Therapy That Goes Beyond Words

An integrated path toward healing, embodiment, and lasting change.

At CPYC, psychotherapy is our foundation. Every therapeutic relationship begins within a clear clinical frame and conceptualization, guided by the client’s goals, needs, readiness, and capacity for change.

From there, our therapists may draw on adjunctive healing practices when they support the therapeutic process. For some clients, this may include mindfulness, meditation, visualization, yoga therapy, expressive arts, sound, nature-based practices, energy work, or other experiential approaches.

These practices are not separate from therapy. They are used intentionally to deepen the work, support nervous system regulation, access what may be held beneath words, and help clients integrate change in a more embodied and lasting way.

Each practitioner at Collingwood Psychotherapy and Yoga Centre brings their own clinical training, lived wisdom, and signature way of working. What unites us is a shared commitment to psychotherapy that is grounded, ethical, relational, and whole-person in its approach.

Relational and Trauma-Informed Therapy in Collingwood

We Believe Healing Happens When You Feel Met, Understood, And Supported.

Life can feel full and heavy in ways that are hard to name. From the outside, you may be managing responsibilities, showing up for others, and keeping things moving. Underneath, something may feel unsettled, overwhelmed, disconnected, or quietly exhausted.

At Collingwood Psychotherapy and Yoga Centre, we understand this not just clinically, but humanly. Our work is grounded in relational, experiential, and trauma-informed therapy that helps you go beneath the surface and understand what is really happening inside.

Together, we begin to notice the patterns, emotional responses, and inner dynamics that shape how you feel, relate, protect yourself, and move through the world. This is not about quick fixes or surface-level change. It is about creating space where something real can shift.

Therapy with us is not something that happens to you. It is something that gradually begins to shape how you live, relate, choose, and return to yourself.

“Healing is not about becoming someone else. It is about coming back into relationship with the parts of yourself that have been waiting to be met.”

Founder & Clinical Director, CPYC

Our Mission

Our Mission At Collingwood Psychotherapy and Yoga Centre

We support courageous humans in reconnecting with their inner wisdom and restoring a sense of wholeness through transformational therapy that honours the connections between body, mind, spirit, and energy. Our Core Values

What Guides Us At Collingwood Psychotherapy And Yoga Centre

Look Inside With Courage

We lead with emotional honesty and a deep commitment to self-inquiry. This means choosing curiosity over avoidance, pausing to listen inward, and facing discomfort with humility. We trust that everything we need is already within us, and transformation begins when we meet ourselves fully, without bypassing or performing.

Be With, Not Above

We build trust through presence, humility, and mutual respect. Compassion begins when we meet others with honest curiosity, deep understanding, and acceptance. We lovingly reflect what’s hard to see, both in ourselves and others, practicing self-responsibility, radical honesty, and repair. Conflict isn’t avoided here; it’s part of how we grow together.

Practice And All Unfolds

We honour the full, embodied experience of being human. Growth doesn’t come from striving, it comes from presence, expression, and allowing. We value practice over perfection, trusting what arises and making space for creativity, movement, and joy. This is a space where becoming is welcome, messy, alive, and free from pressure or pretense.

Invite The Mystery

We honour the unseen, the intuitive, and the wisdom that lives beyond logic. Instead of grasping for control or certainty, we stay open, curious, attuned, and receptive to what wants to emerge. We trust in timing, make space for meaning to unfold, and root our work in reverence, presence, and love.
