Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

My Therapeutic Goals:

Taking the first step into therapy, especially if it’s your first time, can feel a bit overwhelming. The idea of opening up to someone new might bring up questions or even a little apprehension. My aim is to create a warm and secure space where you feel completely comfortable exploring your inner world and engaging in the therapeutic process. Psychotherapy is a unique opportunity to truly get to know yourself, understand your interactions with others, and explore your place in the world around you.

As your therapist, I’ll be a non-judgmental partner in your exploration. Together, we’ll gently uncover how your past experiences and relationships might be shaping your present. We’ll work on addressing personal challenges, helping you feel more in control of your life, and empowering you to live authentically, aligned with your own values and boundaries.

My Path So Far:

My journey to becoming a therapist has been quite a unique one! It began at McKendree University in Illinois, where I spent five years playing for the men’s hockey team while earning both my undergraduate and master’s degrees. After that, I spent two years playing minor league hockey in Sweden, in a small community called Ockelbo. During my time there, I also began my doctoral degree in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) through California Southern University.

After returning from Sweden, I dedicated three years to working in children’s psychological assessment as part of a traveling team. This work took me to diverse communities, from the far North in Kashechewan, Ontario, all the way to Brantford, Ontario in the South. Working with children during this time deepened my admiration for their incredible resilience in the face of challenging circumstances. Now, as I near the completion of my doctoral degree, I’m excited to continue my story by helping individuals in our community on their own paths toward well-being.

The Process of Psychotherapy:

Entering psychotherapy can feel like a vulnerable experience, as it involves deep internal reflection. Because of this, our work together will always progress at a pace that feels comfortable for you, allowing us to build a strong client-therapist relationship over time. As our connection develops, we’ll gently explore the emotions, relationships, and behaviours that influence your daily life. Gradually, we’ll work together to uncover the underlying influences behind your thoughts and actions, guiding you toward a greater sense of self-alignment and inner peace.
